Golden Ridge Homestead is a family breeder in Honey Brook, Pennsylvania. We raise one breed — Golden Retrievers — and we keep to one or two litters at a time so every puppy is brought up with daily handling and attention. Families come to us from across Pennsylvania and the surrounding states, and Sam works with each of them from the first phone call through to go-home day.

If nothing is showing above, it is not because we have stopped. Most of our puppies are spoken for before they are born, so the list you see on this page changes quickly. How to reserve a puppy

There are two ways onto the list, and there is no cost to start.

• The free waitlist simply tells us you are interested. We let you know when a litter is planned or a puppy becomes available. Nothing is owed and nothing is promised.
• The priority waitlist takes a $600 deposit, which reserves a particular puppy for your family rather than simply being told when one is available. It is fully refundable within 48 hours, it can be transferred to a different puppy or a later litter, and it comes off the price of your puppy.

Ask us anything before you place one. We would far rather answer questions for a week than have a family end up with the wrong puppy.

What comes home with your puppy

Each puppy has its own go-home date, shown on their page. Each one leaves with a veterinary exam and health certificate, age-appropriate vaccinations, a completed deworming protocol, microchip registration, and a starter kit with a blanket carrying the scent of its litter.

Every puppy carries a 30-day Peace of Mind Health Guarantee, plus a two-year genetic health guarantee based on the DNA and OFA testing done on both parents. We ask that you have your own vet look your puppy over within 10 days of coming home. We also partner with Trupanion, who provide a free 30-day insurance policy that is activated when your puppy goes home.

Before go-home day the puppies have already started crate training, leash work and potty basics, along with early neurological stimulation and daily handling. They have heard a household — doors, dishes, children, the vacuum — because a puppy that has met ordinary life settles into yours far more easily.

Where our families come from

Most of our puppies stay in Pennsylvania, and we regularly place with families in New Jersey, Maryland, New York and Delaware. We are about an hour and a half from Philadelphia and within a comfortable drive of Lancaster, Reading, Harrisburg and the Baltimore and New Jersey suburbs. If you are further out, talk to us — we can discuss delivery or meeting part-way, along with what that would cost for your particular location.
