Every breed we work with is chosen with care — get to know each one before starting your puppy journey.
One breed, raised properly
Golden Ridge Homestead raises Golden Retrievers, and only Golden Retrievers. Some breeders carry several breeds at once. We decided a long time ago that we would rather know one breed thoroughly — its lines, its health testing, the temperaments that come through a pairing — than know a handful of them partly.
It is also why we keep to one or two litters at a time. Every puppy is brought up inside our home in Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, with daily handling, early neurological stimulation and the ordinary noise of a household, and goes home at 10 weeks with a health guarantee and our support for the rest of its life.
The guide below is an honest account of the breed, including the parts people are sometimes surprised by — how much they shed, how much exercise they genuinely need, and the health testing that matters. Read it before you reserve. A Golden Retriever is a ten-to-twelve year commitment, and we would far rather you were sure.
